When this much talent gets together, can the whole be greater than the sum of the parts?

Last year gal pals Sarah Blasko, Sally Seltmann and Holly Throsby decided to take a break from their busy solo careers and record an album together, decamping to New York City to lay down a 12-song suite of demos (four each) they’d traded via email and polished in Throsby’s backyard.

Tomorrow in The Wire Mag Bon Iver (aka Justin Vernon) reflects on the modern world and his self-imposed exile.
We chat to Oz stoner rock stalwarts Tumbleweed, country music up-and-comer Caitlin Rose and Papa vs Pretty admit they aren’t that good with people.

FEATURE: Seeker Lover Keeper

“Rest your head on my shoulder,
And I’ll take care of your worries.
It was you who promised this to me,
It was you who offered me courage.”

Three beautiful voices blend and rise to sing a song of united spirit, of steadfast comfort, of shared purpose; a song to sing around the piano, a folk gospel number that could have emanated from the McGarrigle sisters’ songbook.

The song is called Rest Your Head on My Shoulder, the final track on the self-titled debut album for Seeker Lover Keeper. And the voices belong to three of this country’s finest singer/songwriters — Sarah Blasko, Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann.

This week in The Wire Mag we chat to the most heavenly of all super groups, Seeker Lover Keeper.
We examine the X-Men franchise, tipping the fifth instalment, X-Men: First Class, as one of the best.
Plus, revealing interviews with Cake, Foster the People and Joan As Police Woman.
And the usual social snaps, gig guide, reviews, news and more.
